Job OverviewPosition: Senior Credit Risk Analyst

The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for the evaluation, management, and reduction of credit risk within the organization’s lending and investment sectors. This position entails formulating and executing risk management strategies, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and working closely with various departments to enhance credit risk exposure while safeguarding the organization's profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and execute credit risk management strategies aimed at minimizing losses and maximizing risk-adjusted returns.
  • Evaluate and monitor the creditworthiness of current and prospective clients, counterparties, and investments.
  • Supervise the credit approval process, which includes assessing loan applications, credit limits, and collateral.
  • Conduct routine stress testing and scenario analyses to assess the effects of unfavorable economic conditions on the credit portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal risk management protocols.
  • Collaborate with lending, investment, and finance teams to enhance credit risk models and scorecards.
  • Track and report on essential credit risk indicators, portfolio performance, and emerging risks to senior leadership.
  • Provide insights for enhancing credit risk management practices and policies.
  • Lead the development and execution of risk mitigation strategies, including credit insurance or hedging.
  • Mentor and train junior credit risk analysts and other team members.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of experience in credit risk management, credit analysis, or a comparable role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of credit risk assessment, underwriting, and portfolio management.
  • Expertise in credit risk modeling, financial analysis, and risk management software.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory standards concerning credit risk (e.g., Basel III, IFRS 9).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex risk concepts to stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and spearhead credit risk initiatives.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or similar are highly advantageous.
