Job Overview

Position Summary:

The role involves engaging in solar asset inspections, operational tasks, and maintenance functions. You will be responsible for overseeing and executing routine evaluations of both company and client-owned solar installations. Additionally, you will assist in troubleshooting issues and managing outage responses while coordinating activities with contractors. Effective communication regarding planned and unplanned outages with clients is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly and annual evaluations of solar facilities.
  • Execute regular maintenance tasks and arrange for third-party maintenance services as necessary.
  • Monitor solar energy production and implement optimization strategies.
  • Diagnose issues related to solar installations, including DC ground faults, switchgear malfunctions, component failures, and inverter problems.
  • Lead and coordinate warranty claims and maintenance operations with manufacturers, vendors, and clients.
  • Support the energization process of solar facilities.
  • Ensure all items are addressed during the commissioning phase.
  • Facilitate the transition between construction and operations & maintenance teams.
  • Perform medium voltage/low voltage switching.
  • Provide timely updates to clients regarding outages and maintenance activities through appropriate communication channels.
  • Maintain a detailed log of solar facility outages, including time, cause, duration, and response times.
  • Foster a safety-oriented work environment by promoting adherence to safety protocols and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in remote field locations, in proximity to energized electrical systems.
  • Willingness to travel as required for asset management evaluations and projects.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service, ensuring professional and courteous responses to client needs.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities with innovative and creative thinking.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with third-party contractors.
  • Commitment to following established safety protocols and practices.
  • Proficiency in using necessary testing equipment and tools for inspection and maintenance tasks.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and eagerness to learn within a dynamic team environment.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a technical institution, or a minimum of three years of experience in the solar industry.
