Service Operations Technician

Position Overview: The Service Operations Technician is tasked with the upkeep, servicing, and travel to client locations for the repair and maintenance of substantial industrial machinery; it is essential to keep the service vehicle in a tidy and professional condition.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Capable of identifying basic mechanical issues.
  • Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots machinery, including conducting tests and diagnostics.
  • Monitors, assesses, and modifies processes or machinery to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Diagnoses both simple and intricate mechanical challenges.
  • Collaborates with fellow technicians to execute repairs and maintenance as required.
  • Possesses knowledge of oil field and engine machinery.
  • Completes tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Finalizes service assignments as necessary within designated timeframes.
  • Communicates effectively with clients, colleagues, and management.
  • Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participates in training sessions as required.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience with comparable industrial machinery is strongly preferred.
  • 2-5 years of prior field service experience is preferred.
  • Must be capable of executing complex repairs accurately and safely in both workshop and field settings.
  • Must possess a basic set of hand tools.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license or commercial driver’s license.
  • Able to travel overnight between locations as necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficient in the English language.
Working Environment:
  • Engages in bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, squatting, and crawling.
  • The core responsibilities of this role necessitate moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
  • Extended periods of sitting on a forklift or other warehouse equipment may be required.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; as well as dust, fumes, and gases; and various climate conditions including heat, cold, humidity, rain, and snow.
  • Must be able to wear standard protective or safety gear such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats when necessary.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions at times.
  • Must react swiftly using hands, fingers, or feet.
  • Must be able to lift and move a 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.
  • Ability to navigate throughout the facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to complete tasks despite frequent interruptions.
  • Must exercise discretion and independent judgment as necessary.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly on the phone and with colleagues.
