This role is integral to continuous improvement initiatives and involves collaboration with employees across all levels of the organization.
This position will lead and assist in projects including new product launches, equipment procurement, financial analysis, process enhancements, equipment troubleshooting, and supporting maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and understand assembly methods and manufacturing techniques.
- Implement automation and lean manufacturing strategies to minimize cycle times and eliminate waste.
- Design, develop, and initiate improvements in fixturing and tooling processes.
- Oversee projects from conception and design through budget approval to qualification, ensuring adherence to timelines and financial constraints.
- Support automation initiatives, including robotics and laser etching/cutting technologies.
- Communicate effectively with all organizational levels, collaborating with operations personnel, engineering teams, product planning, and external suppliers.
- Create documentation to assist operators and maintenance personnel in their tasks and troubleshooting efforts.
- Proactively address quality issues using effective problem-solving techniques, developing both temporary and permanent solutions.
- Adhere to all safety and regulatory standards.
- Utilize AutoCAD, Inventor, and/or 3D design software for electrical and mechanical design and repair.
- Support manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing engineering or automation environment (co-op experience is acceptable).
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding, fabrication, material handling, and complex product development.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and/or 3D design software (Inventor, SolidWorks, or NX).
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical schematics.
- Self-motivated team player with excellent communication abilities.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with various welding techniques (GMAW, GTAW, ERW) and fabrication processes.
- Five or more years of relevant experience in a manufacturing engineering setting.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and resistance welding.
- Experience with FANUC robot programming and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated project leadership capabilities.
- Advanced skills in 3D design.
