Job Purpose and Impact:
The Manufacturing Process Optimization Engineer at MDA Edge will utilize engineering methodologies to enhance intricate production processes and products.

In this position, you will deliver technical assistance, operational expertise, continuous improvement initiatives, and project management capabilities, contributing as a vital member of a team addressing complex challenges within the operational domain.

Your role will involve overseeing external contractors engaged at the facility, enhancing the stability, capability, and availability of processes while minimizing variability and managing risks in the operational sector.

You will provide insights to empower the operational area in achieving both variable and fixed cost efficiency targets, while ensuring the safety of our workforce, communities, the environment, and assets, and fulfilling our business commitments.


Key Accountabilities:

Gather and evaluate intricate operational data and trends, offering recommendations and strategies to enhance the performance and reporting processes of manufacturing equipment and operations, ensuring consistent monitoring and early warning indicators.

Collaborate with maintenance leadership to strategize, recommend, and schedule maintenance for complex plant systems utilizing reliability models and predictive technologies.

Work alongside internal technology and finance operations stakeholders to oversee and manage variable and fixed costs at the facility. Plan and supervise production shutdowns while ensuring compliance with legal and preventive maintenance standards for manufacturing equipment.

Collaborate with manufacturing technology engineers to assess capital expenditures and complex project designs, seeking more efficient, cost-effective solutions that promote higher quality and reliable outcomes.

Provide oversight to third-party personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring safety, and enhancing their skills over time.

Engage with relevant personnel from other departments within the facility or across the organization to recommend benchmark practices and develop strategies.

You will operate with minimal supervision, independently addressing complex issues while referring only the most intricate matters to senior staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Possesses extensive knowledge of engineering principles.

Minimum of four years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with operational data technology portfolios. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Strong project management skills and experience. Proficient data analysis capabilities, including continuous improvement experience or certifications.
