Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute complex engineering projects.
  • Implement projects directly on the production floor.
  • Coordinate and guide the efforts of Engineers, Technicians, and temporary staff.
  • Design and execute electrical projects that adhere to robust scientific standards.
  • Provide technical insights to enhance manufacturing quality and operational efficiency.

This role includes:

  • Introducing advanced technologies that are economically viable.
  • Assisting in resolving technical production issues as necessary.
  • Optimizing existing machinery and processes to improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Developing specifications for equipment modifications and enhancements.
  • Assessing project resource needs including time, funding, and personnel.

Prepare and submit funding requests for projects, while tracking expenditures against established budgets. You will also modify or create PLC programs to adapt to evolving production requirements and provide training to electronic technicians on new systems and controls.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with upgrading control systems to Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs.
  • Knowledge of Vision Systems and SCADA Systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience with Root Cause Analysis.
  • Proficient in computer programming and macro writing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Engineering Technology with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with major equipment relocations, including startup and validation.
  • Ability to implement electrical control systems in a manufacturing context.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or similar CAD software, MS Project, and MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills for developing specifications and proposals.
