Position Overview

If you are a Manufacturing Engineering expert eager to advance your career, we have an exciting opportunity within our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering department. This role emphasizes teamwork and collaboration, requiring self-motivation and the ability to drive projects to completion with minimal supervision. The position's level and compensation will be determined based on the candidate's skills, experience, and educational background.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver innovative engineering, welding, or metallurgical solutions to support manufacturing and equipment design.
  • Offer component design guidance to ensure optimal manufacturing and bonding practices.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Plant Manufacturing Engineers and Quality personnel, as well as Corporate Quality, Automation & Controls, Product Engineering, and Product Planning groups.
  • Assist in capacity expansion, new product development, and process innovation.
  • Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions, ensuring compliance with development procedures.
  • Define and develop bonding and joining processes for new products.
  • Support various welding processes, including automated MIG welding, resistance welding, and friction welding.
  • Oversee manufacturing tasks related to Europe's Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) for certification acquisition.
  • Conduct high-level analysis of microstructures to derive insights and understanding.
  • Offer both general guidance and hands-on support as needed.
  • Lead projects for equipment upgrades, including budget management, RFQ development, installations, modifications, qualifications, documentation, and initial launch support.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, specializing in Welding Engineering or Material Science with a focus on Welding Engineering or Technology.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate ideas and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Capability to plan, coordinate, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc robotics.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or other 3D CAD software.
  • Proficiency in writing weld procedure (WPS) documents.
  • Understanding of methods to verify and validate weld integrity through relevant standards.
