The Field Sales Support Specialist (FSSS) plays a crucial role in delivering on-site assistance to healthcare professionals within the Interventional Surgery division. Collaborating closely with sales and marketing teams, the FSSS will implement surgical case support and training initiatives aimed at meeting annual sales objectives. This position entails significant travel, with approximately 80% of the time spent in the field to cultivate enduring relationships with clients, including physicians, nurses, and hospital staff. Successful candidates may progress to a Territory Manager role, necessitating flexibility for relocation across the U.S.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support BD's Infection Prevention and Biosurgery product lines by engaging with healthcare professionals and key decision-makers.
  • Coordinate with sales teams to strategize and execute customer training and technical support for clinical cases.
  • Assist in identifying priority customers and training events in collaboration with sales management.
  • Facilitate the development of regional physician trainers for both formal and informal educational activities.
  • Conduct training sessions for surgical staff and support personnel within hospitals.
  • Contribute to the establishment of regional centers of excellence and collaborate with marketing on physician training seminars.
  • Provide assistance at regional marketing events, conventions, and symposiums.
  • Engage in special projects and additional tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain promotional materials and equipment in an organized and professional manner.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of administrative tasks and maintain up-to-date account records.
  • Optimize productive selling time, ensuring a minimum of three operating room visits and four surgeon contacts daily.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of product pricing, availability, and competitive landscape.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of promotional materials, including samples and brochures.
  • Acquire and apply knowledge of all products, including new additions to the line, to effectively educate hospital staff.
  • Adhere to budgetary constraints while managing expenses.
  • Utilize effective sales presentations and address objections with standard responses.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of industry trends, sales techniques, and product information.
  • Foster relationships with district and territory managers, as well as customers.
  • Plan and organize sales calls to ensure effective territory coverage, utilizing a daily written plan.
  • Understand and interpret company policies for customers and prospects.
  • Maintain a clean and serviceable company vehicle.
  • Leverage educational opportunities such as lectures and seminars to maximize product presentations.

Qualifications:

The Field Sales Support Specialist will be instrumental in supporting BD's Infection Prevention and Biosurgery products, engaging with healthcare professionals and decision-makers. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating customer training and technical support for clinical cases.
