Job Overview

Role Summary:

The Technical Product Consultant will play a crucial role within the Dresser Measurement value stream. This position involves validating client specifications and ensuring the precision of the technical details required for the product, encompassing both hardware and software configurations as well as manufacturability aspects. The consultant will also oversee the customer complaint (cc) process and collaborate with value stream members to conduct root cause analysis and ensure effective resolution of complaints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and document Customer Special Requirements, ensuring clarity in hardware and software configurations while collaborating closely with Production and Quality teams.
  • Lead the clean-start work-order process, ensuring adherence to technical specifications.
  • Provide support to Commercial Operations and Customer Care departments as necessary.
  • Manage the customer complaint process from initiation to resolution, including communicating outcomes to customers and field sales teams.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling the value stream in accordance with customer configuration needs.
  • Conduct testing and quality assurance procedures to confirm that the gas metering software functions as intended, including functional and regression testing.
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical services teams to gather and review all requirements, discuss solutions, and finalize customer configurations prior to manufacturing.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required Skills:

  • High School diploma with a mechanical aptitude and proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, particularly in machining, assembly, and testing, or direct customer support in a technical role.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to engage on the shop floor.
  • Effective communication skills, comfortable interacting with customers as required.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
