In this role, you will collaborate with Partners across the M&A team to provide Transaction Advisory Services to financial institutions and infrastructure operators. Your work will involve close interaction with infrastructure funds, private equity firms, investment banks, and energy companies to deliver comprehensive technical due diligence services on both buy-side and sell-side transactions, as well as project financing deals.

Job Overview

The M&A division at ERM comprises a dedicated team of over 50 consultants specializing in technical, ESG, and EHS due diligence services. In response to a growing demand from clients for our expertise on various projects, we are looking to enhance our offerings within the infrastructure service line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of proposals, including the development of our company profile, scopes of work, scheduling, and commercial terms.
  • Lead or assist in projects that evaluate the technical, operational, and business plans related to proposed investments in infrastructure assets.
  • Coordinate project deliverables, including Q&A submissions, management sessions, client meetings, and report presentations.
  • Collaborate effectively with technical teams within ERM and subcontractors identified as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure successful project delivery and client engagement.
  • Engage in internal development initiatives to enhance the functionality of the infrastructure service line.

Qualifications and Skills:

To be considered for this position at ERM, candidates should demonstrate the following essential and desirable skills:

Essential:

  • A robust academic background in engineering disciplines (e.g., Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering).
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in technical consulting, engineering, or operational roles within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to identify risks and opportunities in technical documentation, site assessments, and discussions regarding asset integrity, operational performance, management systems, or business plans.
  • Exemplary organizational skills, self-motivation, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and maintaining high standards for oneself and the team.
  • Advanced report writing and presentation capabilities, with experience in client-facing roles.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing external client projects.
  • Ability to lead or manage complex project deliveries, coordinating multiple workstreams into cohesive client deliverables.
  • Prior experience in technical due diligence is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Corporate finance qualifications.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for site visits as required.
  • Familiarity with current reasonable costs associated with Capex (Capital Expense) and Opex (Operational Expense) for engineering assets or projects.
  • Knowledge of decarbonization strategies and technologies.
  • Experience in reviewing EPC contracts, financial models, designs, specifications, and budgets for industrial projects.
