Position Overview:

The Engineering Technician (ADV0008VT) role at Aerodyne Industries is pivotal in supporting our innovative engineering and information technology services. We are a forward-thinking firm located on Florida's Space Coast, dedicated to providing the agility of a small business combined with the capabilities of a large corporation. Our esteemed clients rely on us for critical projects that contribute to national defense and space exploration.

The COMET contract encompasses the management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations. This position plays a crucial role in supporting various programs, including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System.

As a key member of the Ground Support Technical Operations (GSTO) team, you will engage in daily operations that support NASA's Artemis program. Your responsibilities will include assisting in Launch Vehicle Processing, Testing, and Validation of both flight and ground systems.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Operational Technician, you will:

  • Support Launch Vehicle Processing and Testing of Artemis flight hardware.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and adhere to strict safety protocols.
  • Pass a SCAPE Physical and maintain necessary security clearances.
  • Be available for shift work, weekends, and reasonable overtime as needed.

Qualifications:
This position is open at multiple levels, allowing us to consider candidates based on experience and business requirements. The minimum qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one year of relevant experience or technical training.
  • A background in mechanical or electrical fields, particularly in aviation or aerospace, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and distinguish between colors.
  • Compliance with safety policies and the ability to work in various environments.

Work Environment:
The role involves both indoor and outdoor work, with potential requirements for working at heights and in confined spaces. You will operate and maintain various handling equipment and computer systems to support project documentation and performance tracking.

Attendance:
This position typically requires 8-hour shifts, five days a week, with a strong emphasis on punctuality and reliability.

Additional Requirements:
US Citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain necessary certifications for operating Material Handling Equipment. Candidates must pass a federal background investigation and comply with all safety and drug-free workplace policies.
