Role Purpose:
This position involves senior-level responsibilities in Electrical System Engineering, focusing on the development and execution of advanced tasks related to facility power distribution systems (up to 13.8 KV). The selected candidate will oversee various aspects including mission support planning, equipment operations, electrical project planning, and facility power system design.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of electrical system protective relaying, motor controls, switchgear operation, and design. Experience with power transformers, emergency generators, photovoltaic systems, UPS/battery systems, and lightning protection is essential.
- Design and Troubleshooting: Possess strong design capabilities for medium and low voltage facility power distribution systems, ensuring minimal oversight during troubleshooting and design tasks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with junior engineers and technicians to uphold engineering processes and industry standards, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Maintenance Management: Manage the Maximo database for asset information, develop job plans, and address preventive maintenance deferrals.
- Mission Support Coordination: Collaborate with NASA and customers to align mission activities with launch schedules, including test plan development and operational support.
- Project Engagement: Interface with various stakeholders to define system specifications, support technical proposals, and coordinate documentation updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Proficient in computer systems and software applications relevant to the position.
- Ability to lead design efforts and resolve engineering challenges effectively.
Work Environment:
This role is primarily office-based with occasional fieldwork. The position requires a commitment to safety and quality standards, ensuring a productive and secure work environment.
