Engineering Technician (ADV0008VT)

The COMET contract encompasses the comprehensive management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations. These initiatives are critical in supporting various programs, including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System.
The selected individual will be integral to the Ground Support Technical Operations (GSTO) team, playing a vital role in supporting the Artemis program. Responsibilities will include assisting in Launch Vehicle Processing, as well as Testing and Validation of both flight and ground systems.

As an Operational Technician, your duties will involve supporting the processing and validation of Artemis flight hardware and associated ground systems. This role requires interpreting engineering drawings and adhering to strict safety protocols. Candidates must be capable of passing a SCAPE Physical and maintaining a security clearance, as well as supporting shift work and reasonable overtime as necessary.
Qualifications:
This position is open at multiple levels, allowing for consideration based on the candidate's experience and business requirements.
Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with one year of relevant experience or technical training. A background in mechanical or electrical fields, particularly in aviation or aerospace, is highly advantageous.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to follow work instructions, interpret engineering drawings, and comply with safety protocols. Strong communication skills are essential, along with some familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
Additional requirements include the ability to lift 50 pounds, distinguish between colors, and comply with safety policies. Physical exertion may be necessary, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
Work Environment:
All tasks must be performed safely, adhering to established safety standards. The work environment will primarily be indoors, with some fieldwork required.
Equipment Operation:
Responsibilities include operating and maintaining handling equipment and computer systems to manage logs and records.
Attendance:
Regular attendance is expected, with typical shifts being 8 hours over 5 consecutive days. Dependability and punctuality are crucial, with occasional overtime required.
Other Requirements:
US Citizenship is mandatory, along with the ability to obtain necessary certifications for operating equipment. Effective interaction with colleagues and management is essential, as is the ability to communicate ideas clearly.
