About the Role:
As the Lead Engineer for the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) division in the Phoenix metro area, you will guide and motivate a skilled team of technicians, managers, and laboratory personnel. This crucial position involves overseeing a dedicated group that delivers exceptional materials testing, special inspection, and quality assurance services for essential construction materials, including soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, structural steel, and aggregates. Your leadership will be vital in fostering team growth, establishing high performance standards, ensuring operational excellence, and executing projects seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage project performance, employee utilization, and workload, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency.
  • Oversee project management, quality assurance, and execution to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Encourage professional development by helping team members set individual goals, outlining performance expectations, recognizing achievements, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain regular communication with team members to keep them informed of initiatives, goals, and objectives, ensuring accountability.
  • Ensure a high level of client service through effective communication and relationship management.
  • Lead marketing efforts for repeat clients and collaborate with business development on new client pursuits, including strategy, proposal processes, and selection efforts.

Your Qualifications:
You bring:

  • Strong communication abilities.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work well in a team.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of supervisory experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (or a relevant associate degree with equivalent experience).
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • The capacity to maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
