Construction Materials Laboratory Technician

The Lab Technician will perform a range of tests on construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct both standard and advanced laboratory tests on construction materials.
- Prepare samples for analysis according to established protocols.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate calibration and functionality.
- Analyze test results and produce detailed reports.
- Assist in the enhancement of testing methodologies.
- Ensure that all testing activities adhere to safety and quality protocols.
- Keep the laboratory space organized and hygienic.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Engage in continuous training to remain updated with industry advancements.
Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:
- An Associate's degree or higher in construction materials, civil engineering, geology, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in a construction materials testing laboratory.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory testing instruments.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A commitment to safety and quality assurance practices.
- The physical capability to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- The stamina to stand for extended periods and work in diverse environmental conditions.
