POSITION SUMMARY
As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing submissions, managing Requests for Information (RFIs), and processing change orders. Your role will include preparing and maintaining meeting agendas and minutes, overseeing construction drawings, assisting with pricing for change orders, and providing marketing support as needed. You will assist the project manager and Superintendent with subcontract and schedule management, layout, and quality assurance. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as various web-based construction management software such as Procore, is essential.

- Responsible for layout and surveying tasks, ensuring accurate horizontal and vertical survey control using levels, GPS, total stations, etc., with organized documentation of survey notes.
- Assist in gathering quantities of work completed and reporting for weekly and monthly cost control reports; on smaller projects, the Field Engineer may also handle timekeeping.
- Verify the accuracy and adequacy of concrete forms, including all embedded items, blockouts, and elevations before concrete placement to ensure correct positioning and dimensions.
- Support Foremen and subcontractors in interpreting plans and specifications.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Superintendent to prevent duplication of efforts and report on individual progress and activities for ongoing evaluation and necessary adjustments.
- Manage the quality control process, implementing QC checklists, addressing BIM issues, and documenting project photos. Complete daily reports and contribute to executive reports.
- Participate in pre-installation and subcontractor meetings, as well as weekly staff meetings to report on assigned tasks and coordinate with other management team members.
- Assist with quality control, safety initiatives, and coordination of subcontractors as directed by the Project Superintendent.
- Coordinate material deliveries by verifying material requirements in advance and comparing them with delivery statuses. Additionally, check delivered materials for quantity, quality, and condition, ensuring no missing or damaged items.
- Supervise a small workforce (e.g., a small labor crew) to gain supervisory experience.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports related to construction crews, personnel, subcontractor progress, and issue tracking.
- A four-year degree in Construction Management is preferred, along with four years of experience in commercial construction.
- Understanding of commercial construction processes
