About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Engineer to join our team at Okland Construction. As a Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for layout work, including providing and maintaining horizontal and vertical survey control using a level, GPS, total station, etc.
  • Assist in gathering quantities of work in place and reporting same for the weekly and monthly Cost Control reports.
  • Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction, including all embedded items, block outs, elevations, etc.
  • Assist Foremen and subcontractors with interpretation of plans and specifications.
  • Work closely with the Project Superintendent to avoid duplication of effort and report individual progress and activities.
  • Help manage the QC process, including implementing/creating QC checklists, BIM issues, project photos, etc.
  • Attend pre-installation and subcontractor meetings, as well as weekly staff meetings to report on assigned tasks and coordinate with other management team members.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with quality control, safety programs, and coordination of subcontractors as delegated by the Project Superintendent.
  • Coordinate material deliveries by checking material requirements in advance and comparing them with the delivery status.
  • Direct a small work force (e.g., a small labor crew) to gain supervisory experience.
  • Prepare daily/weekly reports as related to construction crews, personal and subcontractor progress, and issue tracking.
Requirements
  • Preferred four-year degree in Construction Management and/or four years of experience in commercial construction.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Possess knowledge of commercial construction processes.
  • Possess knowledge of concrete form work.
  • Understand construction layout procedures.
  • Possess knowledge of self-perform concrete.
  • Is skilled in reading design documents.
  • Communicates well.
  • Is skilled in leading a team.
  • Possesses the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Holds the OSHA 30 certification.
