Position Overview

The Clinical Services Supervisor is a licensed professional responsible for delivering specialized knowledge in mental health and developmental services. This role entails acting as the clinical authority and overseeing the clinical division that supports students within various educational and campus life programs. The supervisor will assess treatment advancements, perform evaluations, offer guidance and counseling, and create tailored treatment strategies and interventions that cater to the unique requirements of each student.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the clinical team in a collaborative manner to ensure that the specific needs of students are addressed through a holistic approach involving education and student life personnel, administration, families, and external partners.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of students' emotional and social requirements, subsequently developing personalized treatment plans and goals.
  • Employ diverse, student-focused therapeutic techniques that are empathetic and innovative to meet individual student needs.
  • Provide and oversee individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Design and implement new programs and systems to enhance student support.
  • Manage the scheduling of clinical staff and ensure that all necessary documentation and session notes are accurately maintained and submitted.
  • Collaborate with fellow clinicians and educational staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to each student's development.
  • Support students in community and workplace settings to facilitate their integration and future success.
  • Maintain proactive communication with students and their families to effectively monitor progress and address any challenges.
  • Supervise the upkeep of essential records and reports as required.
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay informed about advancements in the field.
  • Contribute to various programs and events within the organization, expanding responsibilities as needed.
  • Stay current on clinical practices to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Participate in community education initiatives related to clinical matters and life skills.
  • As a vital member of the mental health leadership team, be available for on-call duties, including occasional weekend and overnight responsibilities.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid New York State License in a relevant field, with a strong professional standing.
  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related discipline is required; a Doctorate in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with students with developmental challenges or on the autism spectrum is highly desirable; prior experience in educational settings is advantageous.

Supervisory and Budget Responsibilities

This position includes supervisory duties as the team expands and may involve budget management.

Work Environment

Engagement in various campus activities, both indoors and outdoors, is expected.

Physical Requirements

The role may involve managing multiple demands and deadlines, requiring sustained focus and mobility across a multi-level campus.

Position Type

This is a full-time, year-round position with a standard workweek, though additional hours may be necessary based on job demands.

Additional Requirements

A valid driver's license is preferred.
