Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and driven Enterprise Systems Engineer to become a vital member of our innovative team. In this role, you will be instrumental in documenting and refining our client's enterprise architecture, ensuring it aligns with their vision and strategic objectives aimed at enhancing interoperability through cloud solutions, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data-centric initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Architecture Development:
  • Formulate an enterprise architecture that provides stakeholders with insights into essential capabilities, interdependencies, total cost of ownership, and critical impacts and risks. This encompasses:
  • Current State Assessment - identify and document the existing state of the client's IT infrastructure across various organizational units.
  • Future State Vision - collaborate with stakeholders to define the desired future state of the client's IT architecture.
  • Transition Strategy - develop a comprehensive plan and architectural artifacts to guide the incremental shift from the current state to the future state.
Design and Strategic Planning:
  • Establish and uphold a cohesive enterprise-wide architecture vision and strategy.
  • Create actionable roadmaps for technology adoption and system improvements.
  • Set benchmarks for system design, security protocols, and scalability.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure IT initiatives are in sync with organizational objectives.
Systems Integration:
  • Assess current systems and recommend enhancements.
  • Incorporate new technologies and applications into the existing IT framework.
  • Guarantee seamless interoperability among diverse systems and platforms.
Risk Assessment:
  • Identify potential risks associated with technology choices.
  • Implement best practices and security measures to mitigate risks.
  • Continuously monitor system performance and address vulnerabilities swiftly.
Resource Management:
  • Optimize resource allocation for IT initiatives.
  • Ensure cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Provide strategic guidance on technology investments and procurement processes.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Engage closely with cross-functional teams, including content providers, developers, engineers, and business analysts.
  • Effectively communicate architectural decisions and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation and ongoing improvement.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly
  • At least 8 years of experience with a BS/BA; 6 years with an MS/MA; or 3 years with a PhD (additional experience may substitute for formal education)
  • Demonstrated experience as an Enterprise Systems Engineer/Architect or in a comparable role
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., UAF, TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF)
  • Expertise in system design, enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, data management, and security measures
  • Exceptional communication skills for technical documentation, presentations, and executive-level deliverables
  • Proficient in Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Model-Based Systems Engineering
  • Commitment to staying informed about industry trends and advancements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five or more years of experience within the Intelligence Community (IC)
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Data Security and Compliance, Data Integrity, Data Tagging, Data Mesh, AI Integration, API brokers, and Qualitative Computing.
  • Knowledge of IC policies, directives, and standards
  • Experience with data visualization tools/software (e.g., Tableau, MS PowerBI)
