High School Science Educator

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team at Alexandria City Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching high school science courses and providing a safe and optimal learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities- Curriculum Implementation: Develop and implement district-approved curriculum for high school science courses, ensuring alignment with state and national standards.
- Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Administer and analyze assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding, and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Classroom Management: Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting student engagement and motivation.
- Communication with Parents and Colleagues: Regularly communicate with parents and colleagues to share student progress, provide feedback, and collaborate on instructional strategies.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in science education and technology integration.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Certifications and Licenses: Valid Virginia Department of Education license required, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Endorsement in Biology, Earth Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, and/or Environmental Science.
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance: Required.
- Tuberculosis Skin Test: Required.
- Public Health Compliance: Must follow safety and health protocols.
