Division Director, Division of Undergraduate Education

The National Science Foundation is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as the Division Director of the Division of Undergraduate Education. This is a key leadership position that plays a critical role in shaping the future of STEM education in the United States.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Division of Undergraduate Education in developing and implementing strategic plans to strengthen STEM education at two- and four-year colleges and universities.
- Oversee the management of the division's funding portfolio, including determining funding requirements, preparing and justifying budget estimates, and allocating resources.
- Represent the National Science Foundation to external groups, including academic institutions, industry, and government agencies, to advance the mission of the division.
- Build coalitions and partnerships with other NSF divisions, directorates, Federal agencies, scientific and educational organizations, business, industry, and the academic community to advance the mission of the division.
- Supervise and provide leadership and guidance to senior executive-level staff, program officers, administrative and support personnel.
- Ph.D. or equivalent professional experience in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) and/or STEM education.
- Established record of significant achievement in research, administration, and increasing leadership responsibility in academe, industry, or government.
- Experience and competence in technical, financial, and administrative management.
- Ability to work well with people, be an effective communicator, and be committed to continuously develop the diversity of talents and skills of the team.
- Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) in Leading Change, Leading People, Results-Driven Leadership, Business Acumen, and Building Coalitions.
- Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs) in Recognized professional standing in the STEM and/or STEM education communities, Demonstrated knowledge of trends, issues, current research and evidence-based practices in undergraduate STEM education, and Skill in building on and growing the expertise and knowledge of researchers and educators in multiple disciplines.
