Role Overview

As an Event Sales Manager, you will be responsible for promoting and selling various events hosted at our hotel, including corporate gatherings, social events, weddings, and other targeted market segments as outlined by our business strategy.

Your primary objective will be to develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aimed at consistently achieving or surpassing departmental revenue targets.

You will engage with clients to assess their needs and ensure their expectations are not only met but exceeded through effective communication.

Building a network both within and outside the hotel will be essential to generate leads and cultivate relationships with new and existing clients.

Collaboration with the Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director will be crucial in creating competitive and profitable event menus tailored to client specifications.

You will oversee all aspects of event functions, ensuring that all written communications are accurate and effective.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and manage Menu and Event Proposals, Contracts, Banquet Event Orders, Daily Events Reports, and Opera Sales & Catering Input Standards.
  • Finalize event requirements while maximizing revenue potential through upselling and ensuring clear communication with all departments involved in the event's success.
  • Ensure the accuracy of Banquet Checks and conduct bill reviews upon the completion of events.
  • Participate in various meetings with hotel teams and clients, including Operations Briefings, Banquet Event Order Meetings, Sales Meetings, Menu Tastings, and Planning Site Visits.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to attract and service new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

Your experience and skills should include:

  • A University/College degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Proven outbound sales experience with a track record of success (ideally 2-3 years).
  • A background in operations is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills are essential.
  • Ability to lead a team, think strategically, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated capability to achieve business objectives by aligning people, processes, structures, information, and communication systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment and telecommunications technology is beneficial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Banquet Event Order software, and Opera Sales and Catering software.
