Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Chief Executive Officer will primarily engage with external stakeholders and take a forward-thinking approach, while also being responsible for cultivating the internal culture of the organization by exemplifying the mission and motivating all stakeholders.

As a prominent representative of the organization within business, philanthropic, and faith-based communities, the CEO will focus on:

  • Ensuring mission vitality and financial sustainability through effective fundraising.
  • Securing corporate partnerships for student work-study opportunities.
  • Driving enrollment efforts.

The organization employs a President-Principal leadership model, where the Principal oversees curriculum, student life, and daily operations.

Leadership and Collaboration

The CEO will inspire and support a Leadership Team comprising:

  • Principal
  • Chief Operating Officer
  • Chief Financial Officer
  • Director of Enrollment Services
  • Vice President of Advancement
  • Vice President of Corporate Work Study

Additionally, the CEO will maintain robust relationships with various stakeholder groups, including:

  • The Cristo Rey Network
  • Bon Secours Mercy Ministries
  • Diocese of Raleigh
  • Corporate Work Study partners
  • Faculty and staff
  • Students and parents
  • Donors and the broader community
Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree preferred. Candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in:
    • Executive Leadership
    • Education
    • Religious Education
    • Nonprofit Leadership
  • Experience in inspiring and supporting a senior leadership team.
  • Strategic planning and organizational growth leadership.
  • Financial expertise, including budget development.
  • Experience working with economically disadvantaged communities.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both oral and written.
  • A mission-driven, faith-filled character, with a preference for practicing Catholics.
  • Unwavering integrity and a strong moral compass.
  • A passion for serving students with limited economic resources.
  • Articulate and inspirational communication skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving capabilities.
