Position Summary:

We are seeking a Cell Design Engineer – All Solid-State Battery to join our Product Development team. The ideal candidate will be involved in the design and optimization of lithium rechargeable batteries, focusing on enhancing overall battery performance through various parameters. A comprehensive understanding of battery functionality, assembly processes, and energy density influences is essential. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spend a significant portion of your time in our laboratories, collaborating with development teams.
  • Design battery cells by evaluating multiple performance metrics such as cycle life, energy density, and power density.
  • Provide feedback on designed cell specifications to align with customer requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for cell failures as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with the cell design team, R&D, process, and production teams to address and resolve issues at the cell level.
  • Coordinate with project managers to respond to customer inquiries effectively.
  • Adhere to all company protocols regarding confidentiality, invention assignments, and other relevant policies.

Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of experience in all-solid-state cell design, including testing and failure analysis.
  • Experience with pouch or prismatic cells is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of programming languages such as Python is advantageous.
  • Preferred skills in statistical analysis and machine learning.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for innovative solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic startup environment.
