Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated Cost Accountant to contribute to our financial operations. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of monthly inventory, cost of sales, and standard costs associated with the Nuvera plant.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct monthly analyses and provide explanations for manufacturing variances, alongside financial closing duties.
  • Oversee manufacturing inventories and generate various management reports, analyses, and KPIs related to inventory management.
  • Monitor standard costs, performing analysis and reconciliation of margins and cost of sales in relation to closing activities.
  • Physically verify inventory on hand through ABC cycle counts, assessing ABC ratings semi-annually.
  • Investigate and analyze inventory discrepancies to identify root causes, collaborating with representatives from various functional areas.
  • Manage product costs through Bellwether cost change analysis and implement year-end standard cost uplifts, preparing E&O and LCM analyses.
  • Handle project and government accounting and reporting tasks.

Qualifications:

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel (including Lookups, Pivot Tables, and Logical Formulas) is essential. Strong analytical skills and a technical background in inventory and cost accounting methodologies are required, along with knowledge of government accounting regulations.

Work Environment: This position is primarily office-based, requiring the ability to navigate the office environment to access inventory and file cabinets. Minimal travel (up to 5%) may be required for training purposes.
