Position Overview:
Our facility is in search of an Applications Engineering Manager to oversee our Applications Engineering team, which specializes in liquid filtration solutions for Wet Etch & Cleans processes within semiconductor manufacturing.
As a premier supplier in the semiconductor sector, Entegris thrives in a diverse and dynamic environment, supported by a talented group of engineers and scientists. To keep pace with industry advancements, we seek a seasoned Applications Engineering Manager with experience in wet etch clean processes, who is eager to tackle complex and often vaguely defined challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers and technicians to achieve business and customer objectives while mentoring and developing the skills of team members.
- Serve as a technical authority on filtration technologies applied in wet clean semiconductor processes, possessing a comprehensive understanding of filtration principles.
- Collaborate closely with field teams to engage with clients, representing Entegris as a knowledgeable technical expert in liquid filtration and assisting in resolving intricate issues.
- Develop innovative testing methodologies and processes to replicate customer workflows, enhancing comprehension of filtration mechanisms in complex chemical environments and identifying optimal filtration solutions.
- Translate industry insights into actionable strategies and objectives for R&D and Engineering teams to pursue during new product and technology development.
- Work in tandem with Product Marketing to establish product positioning and promotional strategies that empower field teams to deliver appropriate solutions to customers.
- Demonstrate problem-solving capabilities, both independently and collaboratively, through meticulous data collection, analysis, and resolution.
- Lead application support as part of a cross-functional team addressing critical customer challenges efficiently.
- Promote Entegris' technological leadership by participating in conferences and publishing technical papers.
Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD in a relevant technical field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar);
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the semiconductor industry is essential;
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience with wet clean tools and/or processes is required.
Preferred Attributes:
- Familiarity with chemistry and chemical engineering principles (fluid dynamics, mass transfer, and thermal transfer) is advantageous.
- Experience managing or supervising a team for 2+ years is a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas and conclusions supported by data is crucial for this role.
- A solid grasp of statistics, SPC, DOEs, and familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies is desirable.
