Position Overview:
Our facility is looking for an Applications Engineering Manager to oversee our team. The Applications Engineering division specializes in liquid filtration solutions utilized in Wet Etch & Cleans processes for semiconductor manufacturing.
As a premier supplier in the semiconductor sector, Entegris has achieved success through a diverse and dynamic environment filled with skilled engineers and scientists. To support our growth in alignment with industry advancements, we seek a seasoned Applications Engineering Manager with experience in wet etch clean processes, eager to tackle complex and often vaguely defined challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers and technicians to achieve business and customer objectives while mentoring and developing the skills and careers of team members.
- Serve as a technical authority on filtration technologies applied in wet clean semiconductor processes, possessing a comprehensive understanding of filtration principles.
- Collaborate closely with field teams to engage with clients and represent Entegris as a technical expert in liquid filtration, addressing intricate problems and challenges.
- Assist in the development of innovative testing methodologies and processes to replicate customer operations, enhancing the understanding of filtration mechanisms in complex chemistries and identifying optimal filtration solutions.
- Translate industry insights into actionable strategies and objectives for R&D and Engineering teams during new product and technology development.
- Work in partnership with Product Marketing to formulate product positioning and promotional strategies that enable field teams to deliver appropriate solutions to customers.
- Demonstrate problem-solving capabilities, both independently and as part of a team, through thorough data collection, analysis, and resolution.
- Lead application support as part of a cross-functional team on customer taskforces to address critical challenges promptly.
- Promote Entegris' technological leadership by participating in conferences and publishing technical papers.
Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD in a relevant technical field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related disciplines).
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the semiconductor industry is essential.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience with wet clean tools and/or processes is required.
Preferred Attributes:
- Familiarity with chemistry and chemical engineering principles (fluid dynamics, mass transfer, and thermal transfer) is advantageous.
- Experience managing or supervising a team for 2+ years is a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas and conclusions using data is crucial for this role.
- A solid understanding of statistics, SPC, DOEs, and familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
