Position Summary

Atria Senior Living is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee the operations of a premier senior living community. This role is essential in ensuring that our high-rise urban facility maintains its luxurious standards while providing exceptional service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all maintenance operations, ensuring the building's mechanical and electrical systems are functioning optimally.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other essential amenities.
  • Supervise the maintenance team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and implement cost-control measures to enhance resident satisfaction.
  • Manage the apartment turnover process to ensure readiness for new residents.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing resident requests promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and company policies regarding safety and operational procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or a minimum of five years of experience in high-rise property management.
  • In-depth knowledge of building systems, project management, and facility operations.
  • Experience with complex mechanical systems and building automation.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and problem resolution.
  • Excellent performance management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff.
  • Ability to make informed decisions independently to meet community goals.
  • Proficient in the use of maintenance tools and equipment, with the capability to train others.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to influence team dynamics.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and applications relevant to facility management.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work in various environments.
  • Willingness to be on-call and work weekends as necessary.
