Key Responsibilities of the Senior Automation Engineer:
  • Design and implement equipment with varying levels of complexity.
  • Oversee all automation aspects for designated projects.
  • Program and configure all products, including highly customized equipment.
  • Develop and evaluate new feature requirements for next-generation products.
  • Address design programming, sequencing, and electrical signaling challenges to resolve complex automation issues.
  • Troubleshoot and test advanced PLC programming, motion control, and high-speed encoder tracking.
  • Provide mentorship on standards and best practices to junior engineers, technicians, and designers.
  • Innovatively apply existing technologies and concepts to new applications.
Qualifications:
  • Local candidates are preferred.
  • This position requires onsite work and may involve occasional weekend hours.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automation Engineer is required.
  • Experience with Delta V, Foxboro, Wonderware platforms, Rockwell, RSLogix5000, FactoryTalk View SE and ME, PanelView Plus, and PlantPAX is essential.
  • Familiarity with Siemens Simatic APT (Siemens TI-505 PLC controller) is preferred; training may be provided for candidates with Rockwell PLC knowledge.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related scientific field is required, preferably in Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with Emerson Syncade and Delta V software platforms is advantageous.
  • Exposure to FDA-regulated environments and validation experience is necessary.
  • Understanding of 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5, and other regulatory guidelines related to automation systems is important.
  • Experience in recipe configuration and conducting integration and functional testing is required.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting on the production floor is essential.
  • Technical expertise in automated manufacturing, device assembly, and packaging equipment is necessary.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and manage priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration.
  • Experience in adapting to high levels of challenge and change.
  • Capability to clearly communicate requirements, both written and verbally.
