Logistics Materials Engineer - Focus on Product Sustainability and Quality

Zoetis, a leader in animal health solutions, is on the lookout for a Logistics Materials Engineer at the Engineer / Senior Engineer level. This role is pivotal within our Product Sustainability, Quality & Logistics division.

Position Overview
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and self-sufficient professional, adept at collaborating with team members to drive projects forward. The Logistics Materials Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the laboratory has uninterrupted access to essential materials and their associated information. This position is vital for the efficient functioning of the laboratory, preventing delays in studies due to material shortages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and monitor the inventory of materials, guaranteeing their readiness and accessibility for laboratory experiments.
  • Collaborate with various departments to collect and share information pertinent to materials.
  • Engage closely with our supply chain operations to ensure timely delivery of necessary materials before project initiation.
  • Maintain precise records of sample logistics and inventory levels.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards in the management and storage of materials.
  • Exhibit a customer-service-oriented approach, ready to accommodate urgent or complex requests from end-users.
  • Contribute to project planning, keeping relevant sections updated, and executing plans in line with established timelines and budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, with a minimum of four years of industry experience.
  • Proficient in utilizing laboratory automation, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and online inventory databases, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience in logistics or supply chain management, ideally within a laboratory context.
  • Exceptional organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the flexibility to thrive in a dynamic and cooperative setting.
  • Familiarity with automated high-throughput sample preparation and analytical processes.
