Role Overview:
This position plays a crucial role in the development and operation of New Glenn, our heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle designed for safe and reusable space travel. The first stage of this vehicle is fully reusable, emphasizing our commitment to human-capable spaceflight.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage priorities across a team of Manufacturing Engineers focused on hydraulic, cryogenic, and pneumatic systems.
- Collaborate closely with program managers to achieve design, build, and testing milestones for launch vehicles.
- Implement robust engineering principles and processes to maintain high-quality manufacturing standards.
- Ensure compliance with company-wide processes and command media.
- Innovate and develop advanced manufacturing processes.
- Define preparation methods for hardware testing, qualification, and flight.
- Transition research and development hardware into repeatable production products.
- Identify and refine manufacturing methods to enhance quality, reduce costs, and optimize schedules.
- Create clear manufacturing work instructions for various processes including inspection, fabrication, assembly, testing, integration, and refurbishment.
- Oversee cost, quality, build sequence, and schedule throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
- Conduct engineering drawing reviews to enhance manufacturability.
- Establish process control measures and evaluate through statistical analysis.
- Support repair and rework activities as necessary.
- Design and integrate custom manufacturing equipment.
- Develop compliant processes adhering to industry quality systems such as AS9100.
- Analyze capacity and assess staffing needs.
- Lead root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Manage material handling and packaging to protect hardware during the build and test phases.
- Maintain hardware configuration and pedigree throughout the manufacturing process.

Qualifications:
- A passion for our mission: enabling millions to live and work in space.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Over 8 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering operations related to mission-critical systems.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals in mechanical design and manufacturing.
- Extensive experience in hardware manufacturing processes.
- More than five years of leadership experience in guiding teams and projects.
- Excellent coordination and project management skills.
- Ability to navigate and make decisions in ambiguous environments.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management.
- Proven track record in developing new manufacturing processes.
- Strong technical skills in software and tools relevant to the role.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Maintenance Refurbishment Operations (MRO) for high-performance hardware.
- An advanced degree such as an MBA or a Master’s in Engineering.
- Proficiency in schedule management tools.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and lean process methodologies.
