Role Overview:
As a vital member of our Operations team, which encompasses Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security, you will play a crucial role in Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to develop components and assembly processes for liquid propellant rocket engines.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop clear manufacturing work instructions that outline processes such as inspection, fabrication, assembly, testing, disassembly, and refurbishment.
- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes through defect elimination and cycle time reduction.
- Manage cost, quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
- Review engineering drawings and provide final approval for manufacturing.
- Establish process control measures and conduct evaluations through statistical analysis.
- Define and support repair and rework activities.
- Design, procure, install, and integrate custom manufacturing equipment.
- Collaborate with external suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure accurate, timely, and budget-compliant delivery of hardware and equipment.
- Conduct capacity analysis for manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Perform root cause analyses for non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Develop effective material handling and packaging solutions to safeguard hardware during the build and test phases.
- Manage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree throughout the entire build and test process.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse team environment with evolving design iterations.
- Familiarity with lean systems and methodologies.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering models, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Hands-on experience in hardware processing techniques including casting, forging, additive manufacturing, welding, machining, and testing.
- Demonstrated success in completing manufacturing projects focused on manufacturability, cycle time reduction, and mistake-proofing systems.
- Ability to build trust and maintain positive, professional relationships while fostering an inclusive culture.
- Knowledge of AS9100 or similar quality management systems.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful residency is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in rocket engine assembly and acceptance testing.
- Extensive experience in cycle time reduction and defect mistake-proofing.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in SQL.
