We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead our manufacturing engineering team in Kent, WA, and contribute to the development of reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of manufacturing engineers in translating engineering design, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight.
- Develop and implement innovative processes and procedures for various spaceflight systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure mission objectives are met.
- Champion a culture of safety and quality first.
- Develop and implement manufacturing plans, work orders, and procedures.
- Lead the team in translating engineering design into functional hardware.
- Evaluate staffing requirements and hire strong candidates.
- Coordinate daily execution of manufacturing engineering tasks.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry specifications.
- Interface with stakeholders across departments and business units.
- Drive research and development hardware into repeatable production products.
- Identify, develop, and deploy new manufacturing methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build schedules.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- 7+ years of combined experience in manufacturing engineering, people leadership, and project management roles.
- Prior experience in mentoring engineers in career development, technical skills, and project management.
- Experience with CAD, GD&T, and schedule management tools.
- Strong background in mechanical systems and hands-on fabrication experience.
- Meticulous customer-focus with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Master's degree in engineering.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
- Experience using cost management tools to analyze/manage project budget health and variances.
