Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Administrative Coordinator to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. This is a critical role that requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Course and Program Support: Manage course logistics, including projecting course needs, coordinating course schedules, and serving as the point person for the registrar.
  • Administrative Coordination: Provide general clerical coordination to support office operations, including event planning and logistics, expense tracking, and on-line course instruction.
  • Special Projects: Provide administrative support for special projects, including identifying partners for internships, planning visits for visiting faculty candidates, and synchronizing program manuals with information on the graduate record.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students, and collaborate with a dynamic team of staff members to achieve departmental goals.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer tools and applications, including SmartSheet and other typical university databases or programs, and at least one learning management system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: Six years of experience, with a Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with online/hybrid graduate programs, proficiency in computer tools and applications, and ability to troubleshoot technology issues independently.
Working Conditions

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
