Compensation

Starting salary at $80,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Your Role

The Dietitian is essential in safeguarding the health of residents by managing their nutritional care and supervising the health center staff. This position is critical for delivering exceptional nutrition education and enhancing nutrition services within a premium senior living environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Daily collaboration with the Food Service Director and other onsite personnel to ensure efficient operations.
  • Direct engagement with residents, nursing staff, and caregivers to foster a cooperative atmosphere.
  • Supervision of meal preparation for health center residents and oversight of Dietary Aides, ensuring compliance with nutritional standards and resident satisfaction.

Additional Duties:

  • Manage daily health center operations, ensuring a team of 19 staff members delivers quality care.
  • Lead the culinary team within the health center.
  • Conduct regular patient screenings, including weight and calorie assessments, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Serve as a liaison for patient nutritional care with the Dietitian.
  • Maintain accurate medical records for all patients, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Review menus based on patient dietary needs.
  • Respond to inquiries from residents, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Build strong relationships with medical professionals and advocate for Nutrition Services within the community.
  • Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
  • Conduct regular chart audits to ensure thorough and accurate documentation.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance overall care quality.
  • Stay informed about current trends in healthcare delivery and recommend necessary changes.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor's or advanced degree in nutrition or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as a Dietary Manager or Registered Dietitian is mandatory.
  • A valid state dietitian license for Texas.
  • 3-5 years of management experience, preferably in healthcare or senior living settings.
  • A proven ability to lead and inspire teams of 15 or more.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • ServSafe Certification and State Food Handlers Card.
  • Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including passing a criminal background check and drug screening in accordance with state regulations.
  • Ability to provide documentation for work authorization; we utilize E-Verify to confirm employee eligibility to work in the United States.
