As a key member of the Rutland Regional Medical Center team, you will serve as the initial point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Your role is crucial in maintaining the high standard of customer service that our organization is known for.

Job Summary

  • This position is responsible for coordinating patient care activities, managing medical records, and communicating with various stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Register patients, collect demographic and insurance information, and verify eligibility for services.
  2. Answer incoming calls, respond to emails, and provide accurate information regarding payments and billing procedures.
  3. Triage and troubleshoot issues related to patient care, working closely with clinical staff to resolve concerns.
  4. Communicate important visit details, such as arrival times and preparation requirements, to patients in a clear and timely manner.
  5. Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping, to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; 2 years of secretarial experience or medical office training, including 1 year of patient/customer service experience, preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computerized health information systems and basic computer skills.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, with the ability to understand and communicate complex medical concepts.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $15.80 - $23.46 per hour, based on industry standards and location.
