Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the community?
At Cedars-Sinai, we are dedicated to enhancing healthcare and outcomes for older adults. The Elders Preserving Independence in the Community (EPIC) initiative, supported by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), aims to evaluate the effectiveness of in-home preventive healthcare services provided by nurses versus on-site health and wellness classes for older adults residing in low-income independent housing. This project focuses on assessing how each method can sustain or enhance health and functional independence among low-income older adults, with the objective of reducing dependency, preventing moves to nursing facilities, and minimizing the use of expensive health services, while also fostering healthy behaviors and encouraging the utilization of preventive health and community resources.
