Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Community Engagement and Marketing Specialist is tasked with crafting and executing innovative marketing and communication strategies that enhance the organization's mission. This role encompasses community relations initiatives and the orchestration of impactful events aimed at both fundraising and programmatic objectives. The Specialist is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information, and exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills alongside exceptional organizational abilities and technological proficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. EVENT MANAGEMENT: Oversee the planning and implementation of high-quality fundraising and donor appreciation events, including signature galas and community engagement activities. Provide support for program-related events and manage volunteer coordination during these occasions.

2. MARKETING STRATEGY: Formulate and execute a comprehensive marketing plan that effectively communicates the organization's unique mission and maximizes community impact. This includes the creation of print and digital materials, as well as engaging social media content that resonates with the audience.

3. FUNDRAISING ASSISTANCE: Contribute to the success of ongoing fundraising initiatives by assisting in the development of compelling donor communications and supporting key campaigns. Maintain updated profiles on relevant charity platforms to enhance visibility and credibility.

4. WEBSITE MANAGEMENT: Regularly update and maintain the organization's website, ensuring it remains user-friendly and engaging. Incorporate best practices to enhance donor and community engagement, while providing current information on opportunities and organizational updates.

5. COMMUNITY AND MEDIA ENGAGEMENT: Foster the organization's presence in the community by developing relationships with media representatives and creating informative press materials. Train spokespersons for public engagements and monitor media coverage to ensure positive representation.

6. SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT: Oversee the organization's social media profiles, ensuring they are regularly updated with relevant content. Explore new platforms as necessary to expand outreach and engagement.

7. BRAND MANAGEMENT: Collaborate with the CDO to strengthen and manage the organization's brand identity. Review and approve marketing materials to ensure consistency and alignment with organizational values.

8. Additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's Degree or a relevant combination of education and experience.

· Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in all matters.

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in Development and/or Marketing within a nonprofit context.

· Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to excellence.

· Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a strong command of the English language.

· Proficiency in both written and spoken Spanish is required.

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and persuasively.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with donor management systems is preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time commitment with flexible hours based on organizational needs, including occasional evenings and weekends.
