Bilingual Safety Monitor

Work Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Mission: The Archdiocese of San Antonio is dedicated to providing a secure and nurturing environment for children in distress, guiding them on their path to recovery and restoration, and addressing the cycle of maltreatment and neglect one child at a time.
Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Prevention of Sexual Abuse (PSA) Compliance Manager, the Security Monitor plays a crucial role in overseeing video surveillance and daily interactions among staff and children, as well as among peers. This position involves continuous monitoring of activities and routines to identify any deviations from established protocols. The Security Monitor is responsible for notifying management of potential high-risk scenarios and assisting in the development of strategies to reduce risks based on their observations. This role does not include supervisory duties and reports directly to the PSA Compliance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing surveillance footage on a daily basis.
- Conducting thorough inspections of program facilities to observe interactions between children and staff.
- Assisting in managing incidents, including coordinating emergency services and preserving video evidence.
- Generating daily security checkpoint reports and identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Documenting shift activities in a report submitted to the PSA Compliance Manager and other relevant directors.
- Completing end-of-shift security inspections of premises.
- Following safety training and protocols consistently to ensure the safety and well-being of oneself and others.
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding any sensitive information obtained during service.
- Adhering to the Code of Conduct and the organization's values is essential.
- Every employee is expected to approach their duties with a solution-oriented mindset and foster teamwork that aligns with the organization's Mission and Vision.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases is required for those working directly with unaccompanied minors.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- A minimum of one year of experience in child welfare settings is preferred, particularly with compliance and best practices.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and various online database systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures effectively.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently as well as in a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
Travel Requirements:
No local or overnight travel is expected for this position.
