Manufacturing Operations Liaison

Role Overview

The Manufacturing Operations Liaison serves as a pivotal controller, executing essential functions to bolster the respective production area, Supervisor, and Manager. This role enables the Supervisor(s) and Manager to engage directly on the production floor, overseeing vital operations, mentoring, and developing their teams while ensuring that systems and activities are effectively established to achieve anticipated outcomes with minimal oversight. Daily, the Liaison is expected to possess a comprehensive understanding of the schedule and processes, facilitating appropriate evaluation and response to any production requirements.

The Liaison will manage immediate requests from manufacturing support departments, including but not limited to, authorizing work order initiation for calibration and facility maintenance, overseeing quality assurance tag placements and removals, and addressing inquiries related to customer or manufacturing science and technology processes. Beyond daily tasks, the Manufacturing Operations Liaison will take ownership of the specific planning schedule and manufacturing activities, including engineering and validation testing, planned maintenance operations, changeovers, and packing/unpacking activities as applicable. The Liaison will also oversee the management of resin, mesh, and membrane.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site support for the designated area, Supervisor(s), and Manager.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with scheduling teams to identify and plan for any non-routine production and equipment windows required for engineering tasks, validation, etc.
  • Coordinate and authorize requests from manufacturing support departments for work in the production area, including calibration and facility maintenance.
  • Respond to inquiries related to manufacturing science and technology/customer processes.
  • Manage resin, mesh, and membrane, including cycle counts and disposal processes.
  • Oversee manufacturing process-specific change controls, corrective and preventive actions, and validation activities.
  • Own the specific planning schedule for the area.
  • Plan changeover and packing/unpacking activities as necessary.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance operations across shifts.
  • Collaborate with area leaders to ensure resources are available to meet the outlined deliverables.
  • Support immediate response efforts.
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide input on the path forward.
  • Manage immediate follow-up actions related to manufacturing.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and contribute to deviation investigations.
  • Supported by management, lead major investigations related to contamination or process failures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and justifications for forward processing when necessary.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as attending shift exchanges and daily production meetings.
