Lead Financial Strategist

Position Summary:
This role demands a meticulous and proactive individual who will engage in various support functions, including Sales and Margin Analysis, Product Mix Evaluation, New Business Opportunities, Operational Performance Metrics, and Monthly Reporting Processes. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the Principal Financial Analyst and will focus on the Commercial Sales, Marketing, and Product Management divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Principal Financial Analyst to assist in the annual budgeting and short-term forecasting activities.
  • Support ongoing sales forecasting efforts as necessary.
  • Generate and distribute monthly variance analysis reports for the Commercial Sales & Marketing teams, covering P&L performance, departmental expenditures, headcount, and product sales & margins.
  • Assist the Accounting team during monthly and quarterly closing processes, including the calculation of monthly accruals and preparation of journal entries.
  • Act as the primary Pricing Coordinator, responsible for inputting approved pricing into the EBS system and ensuring adherence to pricing protocols.
  • Proactively evaluate risks, develop alternative strategies, and implement recommendations to ensure the Commercial Business Unit achieves its financial and strategic objectives.
  • Conduct regular maintenance of internal financial reporting systems, including Hyperion Essbase, Cognos, and Oracle as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all reporting and planning deadlines, verifying that all information is accurate, consistent, and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and presentation support as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or Operational Finance, with experience in Sales or Marketing being advantageous.
  • Advanced degrees and additional qualifications are beneficial but not mandatory.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills for managing large datasets.
  • Experience with Hyperion or similar planning tools (OneStream, TM1, Profix) is required, along with familiarity with ERP Systems (Oracle or similar).
  • Prior experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, interpersonal, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and self-motivated, with the ability to engage with all organizational levels.
  • This position is not eligible for remote work.

Working Conditions:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer, performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, twist, and lift files.
  • Capacity to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Compliance with required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
  • Adherence to all work exposure EH&S training requirements and SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates is essential.
