Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing product quality and optimizing manufacturing processes, thereby boosting the overall productivity of the organization. This pivotal position involves the development of systems and methodologies in Quality, ensuring seamless collaboration with various business units and clientele. The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for the adherence to the company's Quality Policy and procedures, as well as compliance with AS 9100 and other relevant industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and validate inspection methodologies to assess component quality and product integrity.
  • Engage in the evaluation and analysis of Quality System compliance concerning customer purchase order quality specifications.
  • Enhance product quality through actionable recommendations for process improvements.
  • Proactively propose solutions to inspection challenges to meet customer expectations and provide technical assistance (e.g., Drawing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and use of Coordinate Measuring Machines).
  • Support auditors or inspectors with accurate documentation of findings during Internal Quality Audits and inspections as necessary.
  • Assist process owners with the documentation of Corrective Action Reports associated with findings from Internal Quality Audits or inspection rejection reports.
  • Establish a robust system to ensure compliance and precision in quality standards.
  • Contribute to the development, review, or maintenance of AS9102 First Article Inspections and final inspection plans as required.
  • Oversee inspection methodologies in alignment with engineering and quality specifications.
  • Coordinate customer Return Merchandise Authorizations, internal rejections, and related Corrective Actions with the Material Review Board team.
  • Participate as a member of the Material Review Board and Corrective Action Board processes.
  • Report quality discrepancies to management promptly.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement in quality control processes.
  • Lead initiatives to assess and develop strategies for quality control and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with personnel across all levels to address routine and specialized issues.
  • Engage in the implementation of the company’s Quality Management System.
  • Supervise final acceptance testing and product release for shipments.
  • Participate in auditing processes and the establishment of quality metrics as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Quality; Master's degree preferred.
  • Certifications in AS 9100 Quality Standards are advantageous.
  • Over 10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven experience in a quality assurance environment is essential.
  • Experience in generating documentation for Advanced Planning Quality Programs (APQP) such as Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis and Manufacturing Process Reviews.
  • Proficient in computer technology and operation of Coordinate Measuring Systems.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Visio, and Charting.
