This position requires on-site presence five days a week.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with the accounting team to manage various aspects of financial reporting. Key duties include:

  • Executing month-end closing activities, including preparing cash, undeposited, sales, and prepaid entries.
  • Creating reconciliations to validate reported figures.
  • Documenting all cash transactions for designated bank accounts with precision, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Conducting monthly account reconciliations to verify accuracy and promptly address discrepancies.
  • Recording sales adjustments, merchant fees, and undeposited entries for our product lines.
  • Preparing entries for the monthly amortization of prepaid expenses.
  • Analyzing general ledger activities to confirm the completeness and accuracy of recorded prepaid expenses.
  • Reviewing invoices to determine appropriate periods for amortization.
  • Working with the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate recording of prepaid invoices.
  • Managing the prepaid roll forward for various service fees and marketing expenses.
  • Maintaining the foreign exchange rates workbook.
  • Assisting with audit requests and annual inventory counts.
  • Taking on additional projects to support the accounting department as needed.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in private or public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Experience with a Big 4 or national accounting firm is preferred but not mandatory.
First Year Objectives

In the first year, you will:

  • Within 3 months: Establish effective communication and teamwork within the department.
  • Within 3 months: Ensure high accuracy in cash transaction recording and reconciliation.
  • Within 6 months: Accurately manage prepaid amortization entries.
  • Within 12 months: Master the recording of sales adjustments and contribute to audit requests.
