About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting to join our team at WDI International, Inc. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting department and ensuring financial compliance and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight of all accounting functions, including payables, receivable, payroll, budgeting, treasury, and financial reporting.
  • Help define and drive long-term strategy and improvements for WDI International, Inc. and its affiliated companies.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute strategic plans to support business growth and profitability.
  • Create and present the annual budget for approval by the executive team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Design and implement effective risk management.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide strategic guidance to optimize revenue and control costs.
  • Maintain relationships with banking institutions, external auditors, and business partners.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures, including internal control systems, to ensure accuracy and safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements, including Corporate Governance.
  • Maintain effective communication with the foreign parent company and joint venture partners.
  • Enhance financial reporting systems, including evaluating and upgrading accounting software as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong financial acumen with expertise in tax, bank reconciliation, debits, credits, technical accounting, financial accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, financial software, accrual accounting, and accounts payable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
  • Understand how operational and financial decisions impact the financial statements, including the impacts of US GAAP.
  • Ability to set up, manage, and maintain financial reports and tools for cost control measures.
  • Proven experience in a senior accounting role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Great Plain Dynamics (ERP) system is a plus.
  • Demonstrate concise and clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen to others actively.
  • Work independently on self-directed and assigned tasks under moderate direction and supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
