We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team at Inaba Foods (USA) Inc. in Torrance. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions to support our multi-state offices.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Data Management
- Perform data entry and filing tasks for accounts payable, purchase orders, equipment inventory, and company files.
- Analyze expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
- Account Reconciliation
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivables and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors ledger).
- Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
- Recordkeeping and Compliance
- Ensure proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
- Confirm employer identification numbers have been collected from all vendors for payables to prepare and submit 1099s.
- Financial Reporting
- Facilitate correct and timely preparation of budget reports and purchase journals.
- Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
- Professional Development
- Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, and business ethic codes.
- Represent the Company in a professional manner.
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
- Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting and Office environment.
- Skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Highly proficient with accounting software.
- Excellent organizational skills, reliable, and attention to detail.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, including delegation of tasks when appropriate.
- Adaptable and flexible; responsive and resourceful in a fast-paced, quick-turn business model.
- Proficient with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, or related software.
- Excellent typing and 10-key skills.
- Communication Skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, and other Accounting or Operations software (ERP Systems).
- Business Acumen
- Knowledge of accounting systems and processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Teamwork and Customer Service
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective customer service skills and communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and Sr. Management.
