Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a talented Executive Chef specializing in Fine Dining to enhance our culinary team at Discovery Village at Boynton Beach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulates and executes food service policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
  • Designs menus and meal cycles that reflect cultural and regional preferences, adhering to resident dietary requirements while adjusting recipes for optimal yield.
  • Ensures the quality and consistency of food, monitoring factors such as temperature, portion control, and presentation, making necessary adjustments to meet established standards.
  • Supervises kitchen staff in food preparation, portioning, and garnishing to ensure compliance with prescribed methods.
  • Prepares and carves meats, as well as other culinary dishes.
  • Manages inventory by ordering food and supplies, validating deliveries against purchase orders.
  • Conducts monthly inventory assessments of food items.
  • Performs regular Quality Assurance Audits to maintain high standards.
  • Adheres to safe and sanitary food handling practices.
  • Implements safety and loss prevention protocols.
  • Negotiates and finalizes agreements with food service vendors.
  • Oversees the selection, scheduling, and training of kitchen personnel.
  • Monitors monthly financial performance, providing explanations for significant variances to ensure budget compliance.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience in a culinary environment.
  • Completion of food safety training is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in computer applications relevant to food service management.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities, inspiring and motivating team members to excel.
