About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced culinary professional to join our team at the Daytona Grande Oceanfront Resort as a Sous Chef in Training. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious chef to work alongside our Executive Chef and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques, cooking methods, and portion control, promoting a culture of excellence and consistency.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop new menu items and maintain consistency in food quality, driving innovation and creativity in the kitchen.
  • Handle customer inquiries or concerns regarding food quality or service, providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues promptly.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5-6 years of culinary experience, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Experience in building, motivating, and leading a team, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate, with a strong foundation in culinary arts and kitchen management.
  • The ability to meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storage, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.
