Clinical Pharmacist for Organ Transplantation

The Clinical Pharmacist specializing in Solid Organ Transplantation is responsible for delivering tailored, patient-focused pharmaceutical services to individuals undergoing solid organ transplants, both in inpatient settings and outpatient clinics. This role requires a commitment to achieving optimal therapeutic results through effective medication management and collaboration with healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, particularly those receiving abdominal, heart, and lung transplants.
- Enhance the quality of healthcare delivery through effective communication and teamwork.
- Exhibit expertise in pharmacy distribution services.
- Support the ongoing education and professional growth of the pharmacy department.
- Engage in personal professional development initiatives.
- Supervise the daily operations of the transplant transitions of care technician.
- Participate in a rotating schedule, providing clinical transplant pharmacy services every sixth weekend.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental objectives.
Compensation:
The compensation for this position is set at $83.94 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a Pharm. D. is required.
- Experience: Completion of a PGY-1 residency or equivalent hospital experience is mandatory; a PGY-2 residency is preferred for specialized areas.
- Licensure: A valid license from the Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy is required, along with BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Physical Requirements:
This role necessitates prolonged periods of sitting and repetitive motions such as typing. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential, along with a keen attention to detail and the ability to write clearly. The ability to lift, push, or pull is also required.
