Position Overview

This role is designated for the Transplant Pharmacy Team Leader and serves as the Residency Program Director for the PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant Program. While this position does not have direct reports, it plays a crucial role in leading the solid organ transplant team and mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized, patient-centered clinical services to the inpatient solid organ transplant population, as well as to the outpatient transplant clinic and infusion center.
  • Ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes by providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients.
  • Promote cost-effective medication therapies and foster a collaborative work environment through effective communication and team-building skills.
  • Assist in the verification and dispensing of medication orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
  • Educate healthcare professionals regarding pharmacotherapy, enhancing the overall knowledge base within the team.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary drug therapy management plans, contributing to improved patient care.
  • Develop and implement treatment protocols aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.
  • Engage in professional self-development and support the educational mission by training pharmacy residents, students, and pharmacy technician trainees.
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, striving to enhance the quality and delivery of care.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Compensation: $89.07 Hourly

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: PGY1 residency or 3 years of equivalent hospital experience

Licensure: Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License; BLS certification required.

Physical Demands

This position requires standing and traveling for extended periods. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential, along with attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. The role also necessitates the ability to lift, push, and pull as needed.
