Citigroup Inc. is seeking a seasoned professional to join our U.S. Personal Banking (USPB) division, a pivotal sector within our organization. The In-Business Credit & Franchise Risk Organization is tasked with overseeing the credit and franchise risk associated with the USPB operations. The leader of this unit reports directly to the CEO of USPB.

Within the In-Business Credit & Franchise Risk Organization, the Enterprise Risk and Balance Sheet Management team plays a crucial role. This group is responsible for implementing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) initiatives, which encompass Risk Identification, Risk Appetite & Limits, New Activities/Product Risk, ERM Risk Monitoring, and the execution of our risk management framework. Additionally, this team manages balance sheet constraints, including capital-based risk appetite limits and Risk Weighted Assets (RWA).

This position is integral to the Retail Credit Limit Management & Balance Sheet Management Team. The selected candidate will engage in critical analyses and spearhead initiatives that are vital for the effective management of balance sheet constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee RWA & GSIB, formulate remediation strategies for potential RWA excesses in alignment with the approved business strategy, and manage RWA limit breach escalation in accordance with established policies.
  • Collaborate with finance and business partners to develop a robust in-business RWA forecasting methodology.
  • Conduct stress loss forecasting based on CCAR and other internal stress testing scenarios, ensuring consistency with the firm's risk appetite framework and strategic objectives.
  • Analyze the factors contributing to capital-based stress losses and RWA, recommending metrics and leading indicators to monitor these drivers across the retail risk portfolio.
  • Establish a USPB Balance Sheet Optimization framework that adheres to all capital-based binding constraints.
  • Create presentations with supporting analyses and effectively communicate results to senior and executive management.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in financial services or management consulting, with a strong emphasis on risk management.
  • Proficient understanding of Credit Cards and other consumer banking products, including their P&Ls, key risk-return dynamics, and loss drivers.
  • Solid grasp of Capital and Balance Sheet Management, including CCAR & CECL frameworks and Basel III Endgame.
  • Hands-on experience in retail credit risk analytics utilizing analytical or data management tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, VBA, Advanced Excel) and strong presentation skills.
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical abilities, with a talent for identifying trends, insights, and conducting risk/reward trade-off analyses.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree in quantitative fields such as Financial Engineering, Operations Research, Econometrics, or a related discipline preferred; OR MBA in Finance.
